On March 27, 2012, during the upcoming edition of Movies that Matter Festival, will take place Good Pitch² The Hague 2012, an innovative forum bringing together documentary filmmakers with leading broadcasters, NGO's, foundations, philanthropists, brands and media to expand the resources aimed at maximizing the impact and influence of documentaries on human rights and social justice. Good Pitch² The Hague 2012 specially welcomes documentary projects on human rights defenders and on (international) law and justice to apply to this call. Deadline for entries: December 11, 2011. FREEDOM FOR IRANIAN FILMMAKER MAHNAZ MOHAMMADI
Mahnaz Mohammadi, a prominent Iranian filmmaker and women's rights activist, has been released on bail on July 27, one month after her arrest on June 26 at her home in Teheran. Her court case is still pending and her release is therefore temporary. Mahnaz is under close surveillance, her health is seriously weakened, and her passport has been withheld.
