Krisis

Greece // 2011 // Couleur // 62'
English/Greek with French subtitles

Two friends and 14 photographers crisscrossed Greece for a whole year to make "Krisis". Camera in hand, they drag us into an in-depth journey at the heart of the crisis that grips the country, between upheaval and stagnation. Everyone has their say: from young people in the streets to university and government specialists as well as some unexpected witnesses like a fighter pilot, a 103-year-old farmer and a handicapped athlete. Through their eyes, Krisis teaches us how to decipher the disarray of the Greek State, an event that concerns all of us at the beginning of this century. Of course the film shows riots, tensions, violence and disillusionment. But also the hope for a new beginning, for a renaissance. A film that enchants our eyes and our ears, Krisis is a documentary whose intimate visions of people’s lives affect us strongly.
