Are the laws of Islam stronger than love?
Crimes d'amour à Kaboul paints the portrait of three young Afghan women accused of breaking the law by having sex before marriage or fleeing their homes. Trying to remain dignified in the face of social pressures, the young women and their families confide in talented film-maker Tanaz Eshaghian. As she follows them from prison to their trials, she lets us discover the paradoxes facing young Afghan women who take the risk of transgressing the rules. A touching encounter with young women full of hope, sensitive and lost, who don’t understand how true love can be a crime.
