In 2008, David McKay and Bradley Crowder, two young greenhorns in politics, were arrested at the National Republican Convention and sentenced to two years in prison. They were accused of having prepared Molotov cocktails with the intention of disturbing the Convention. Manipulated and trapped by an FBI informant, the two childhood pals accused of terrorist acts are confronted with post 9-11 American paranoia.
Mixing loyalty, betrayal and idealism, Better This World is a dramatic and fascinating documentary that denounces attacks on civil and political rights. The directors skillfully explore the ethical questions raised by the adoption of national security measures.
